Watchdata has announced that it’s TimeCOS®CD, a dual-interface smart card solution for transport and other public sectors, has got certificate for Calypso Technology.

Calypso technology, originally designed by Innovatron with European transit networks, has now reached a worldwide interest for ticketing applications. It is the only global standard for contactless smartcard applications currently used in more than 16 countries by millions of users for public transport, access control and payment, said Aude Benichou, Innovatron Vice President for Licensing.

Watchdata signed with Innovatron the license for patents regarding the Calypso technology in July 2006. Innovatron has signed more than 200 licenses with companies based in more than 20 different countries.
