EDS, China’s Ministry of Commerce Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
June 27, 2007  Category: General

EDS and China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement aiming to boost China’s role as a global giant in IT services. This latest partnership highlights the increasing cooperation between EDS and the Chinese Government.

Under the agreement, EDS and MOFCOM will work closer to shape the industry’s direction, especially on policy and regulatory issues, as well as cultivate market growth opportunities.

In May, EDS signed a strategic agreement with the Hubei provincial government and in April opened its new Global Service Center in Wuhan City.

In line with this, EDS, with research and analytical support from McKinsey and Company, spelled out key recommendations in a policy paper issued during the Fifth Annual China International Software Information Service Fair (CICIS) in Dalian, which was attended by several major government ministries and agencies. The policy paper was sponsored by the MOFCOM with the Trade Services Division.
