Watchdata has announced that it has passed the GSMA’s Security Accreditation Scheme(SAS) authentication and obtained the SAS certificate, becoming one of four SAS accredited companies in China.
The GSM Association’s smart card Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS) is a unique industry initiative that aims to further enhance the integrity of the smart card for the GSM community. GSM Association operators can have peace of mind knowing that the accredited suppliers have demonstrated their ability to work to a strict set of standardized security criteria. It also eliminates the need for individual operators to conduct their own audits which benefits both operator and supplier alike. The scheme, which can award security certification for a period of two years on successful completion of an audit, covers security policy and procedures, information security, personnel security, physical security, IT security, and logistics and production management. The smart card supplier auditing standard and methodology have been developed by the GSM Association in collaboration with SIM suppliers and world-class security auditing companies FML and ChaseWaterford who conduct the audits on behalf of the Association. Currently 12 companies with 18 plants have been accredited by the SAS Certification Body which comprises GSM Association network operator members. More News
