As a result of an agreement between China Unionpay and Portuguese state-owned bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD Bank), CUP card-holders now can use their cards to withdraw cash at ATMs in Portugal. This also marks that CUP cards are now open to acceptance in 28 countries worldwide.

The operation covers 13 thousand ATMs in Portugal on which cross-bank withdrawal is available, according to China Unionpay. CUP logo will be displayed on the ATM screen and the card-holders can choose English for operation.
