Twenty-six new look ATM kiosks will be installed specially for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The artwork on the ATM kiosks has been inspired by Chinese culture and calligraphy. It uses blue and white brush strokes and traditional signature seal designs which are most recognizable on traditional Chinese porcelain vases.
Visa has been an official worldwide sponsor and the only card accepted at all venues of the Olympic Games since 1986. These ATM kiosks will be installed at competition and non-competition venues to make it easier for those going to the Games to access cash. Of the 26 units, one unit will be installed in Hong Kong and two in Qingdao. Seventeen units will be installed in Olympic competition venues and central areas in Beijing. The six remaining ATM kiosks will be located in front of Bank of China’s retail banking outlets. Visa and its client banks in China have installed more than 90,000 ATMs and signed up some 216,000 merchant locations or outlets throughout China as of December 2007 to help prepare for the expected influx of international visitors from this year. As a service for its cardholders at the Olympic Games, Visa is working with BOCOG to provide multilingual information services and general assistance for cardholders and visitors. More News
