ICBC to Issue JCB Credit Card

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has signed an issuing license agreement with Japan’s payment brand JCB. Their credit card products targeting the Chinese consumers are expected to launch in 2009.

Now in China, ten Chinese partner banks and financial institutions conduct JCB merchant acquiring license business, and approximately 70,000 merchants across the nation accept JCB card for payment. Six JCB licensee banks have issued approximately 1.8 million JCB cards to residents of the country.
