HSBC Bank is partnering with China Unionpay to launch its first debit card in China.

The bank started to issue two debit cards - HSBC Premier Debit Card and HSBC Debit Card in 17 cities in mainland China from 17 November. The debit cards are able to link with up to three bank accounts, including a RMB Yuan account and two foreign-currency accounts.

HSBC and China Unionpay have also reached a bilateral co-operation agreement that will enable HSBC China’s card holders to use their cards on ATMs of Unionpay’s domestic and overseas networks in about 50 markets as well as on HSBC-branded ATMs in 40 countries and regions.
